The Kaiapoi East Residents Association is actively involved in the community of Kaiapoi,
At present there are two initiatives that the association has identified, they wish to advocate for in the development or preservation of the Kaiapoi surrounds whilst enhancing the Kaiapoi township wellbeing and encouraging the economic growth that is sympathetic to the Kaiapoi people and unique environment.
KERA INITIATIVE NO1. LONG TERM PROJECT
KAIAPOI EAST NATIVE POCKET FOREST,
A pocket forest concept using former red zone land, to create a living acknowledgement to the people of Kaiapoi who were impacted by the 2010 September earthquake “the silent suffers” to have an area to wander and reflect using the tree lines of former residential homes as an area to underplant.
