During the last decade since the fateful 4th September 2010 earthquake that destroyed Kaiapoi as we knew it, there have been numerous meetings and community consultations on what uses the community desired for the land from which over a 1000 residential homes were demolished. The public were led to believe the community consultations were suppose to form the framework which the regeneration plans were signed of on, when the land was transferred to Waimakariri District Council by the Crown.
